Jesus is Worthy!

Friends & family, we love & miss you & the work here is worth our sacrifices & yours—Jesus is WORTHY!

Our men’s quartet singing on a recent Sunday morning

The ministry of the New Testament church is alive & well because those who have sent us with prayers & dollars have done so, in our Father’s will, by Christ’s command, & through the Spirit’s leading

In addition to Sunday morning services & the traditional midweek Bible studies, we’ve found this congregation wants MORE. They hunger & thirst for righteousness, as Jesus described in Matthew 5. They want to make God’s Word a part of their hearts & minds so they can live joyful lives that point others to God, just as Jeremiah 15:16 reveals that connection between God’s Word & living a life that pleases Him forever.

So, our family’s been both sent & received by God’s people to equip the saints of Middleton Gospel Chapel for the work of Christ’s ministry to both believers & the lost.

Literally every day of the week we think about & DO this work. In addition to the work that Shannon & John mention below as they share their hearts, Dave has begun meeting with two different groups of men in two different towns in New Hampshire, just since our last update just 75 days ago. They are using Dr. John Barnett’s 52 Key Bible Passages Study which you, too, can access at the YouTube link below. For your convenience, please find the study’s outline attached to this email. If you watch the videos, Dr. Barnett explains the study’s outline in detail. It’s a wonderful way to chase God’s JOY through His WORD in a Jeremiah 15:16 way.

Too, there are plans to launch local outreaches attached to a new firepit, a Lego club, & a community yard sale before year’s end. The Lord has brought our family to the formerly reached area of New England that has been under the influence of those who have a form of godliness, but deny its power (2 Timothy 3:5) for many decades. This is a 2 Timothy 2:26 RESCUE MISSION & we can never afford to forget that or pray over & through it for one day!

FROM SHANNON’S HEART

Praises

We have so much to give God the glory for!  Our "Seeking Him" Ladies Bible Study has concluded, and as we looked back over the 15+ weeks, we were each able to see areas where God is stretching and challenging us, calling us to a deeper, personal relationship with Him - specifically in the areas of forgiveness, walking in the Spirit, personal daily devotion, and prayer. In fact, at the conclusion of the study, several of the women chose to continue meeting together weekly to pray. What a blessing!

We started a new informal, interest-based ministry at the church for those interested in various handcrafts like crocheting, knitting, needlework, etc. We bring our current project and just chat about life and ministry for a couple of hours each week. This kind of Titus 2, multi-generational conversation time has been valuable for all of us, but especially for those who are married to unbelievers, as we pour into each other and encourage each other to be reverent in the way we live, to love our husbands and children well, to be self-controlled, productive at home, and kind, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Our new chime choir has met a few times, and I'm enjoying leading our small group of chimers through the basics of reading music and ringing. We should be ready to ring our first song by the end of summer.

Finding connections in the community and making friends has been challenging the past 3 years, but in His perfect way and timing, God is so faithful to provide for our needs. I am thankful for the women in the church, that we are beginning to open our hearts to each other, and friendships are growing there. God is also opening some doors for me within the homeschool community here, and I am beginning to make some connections there. I am most grateful that He is providing some friends for John as well!

Needs

I've learned that "Anything that makes me need God is a blessing," and I'm recognizing my need more and more. Our church has such a heart for discipleship and hospitality within the church as well as outreach into the community. Please pray as we seek God's will, timing, and wisdom for ministries to pursue here. We will begin meeting soon to plan this year's Vacation Bible School. Please pray for the leaders as we begin studying and preparing for that special week, and that God will draw children from our community to Him and prepare their hearts to receive the Word.  We are also hoping to start a kids' after school program in the fall. Also, please pray for our community here. As it is with many communities, there is great division. We are praying for opportunities to draw the community back together and point them to Christ.

FROM JOHN’S HEART

Hello! The trip to Sight & Sound Lancaster was so fun! My favorite parts were when Goliath (20 Feet Tall!) fell and SHOOK the entire theatre & when David was conquering the Promised Land the map changed as he fought in battle! I can't wait to go back for the Miracle Of Christmas Show 😁 I also was able to go to a Homeschool park meetup and meet a new friend! Then I got to go to a new homeschool co-op! and that was super fun! And I am also enjoying my position at church as I.T. Director.

Friends & family, we love you. Jesus loves you MORE!

If the Lord’s leading you to lay up treasure in Heaven with us by your time & heart invested through prayer, we’re deeply grateful as we know the Lord collects & answers those prayers as Revelation 5 & 8 reveal.

If the Lord’s leading you to financially support our family’s mission to spread the Gospel in New England, with either a recurring or a one-time investment you can do so here: https://give.villagemissions.org/donate/missionaries/missionary-detail/a-scott-dave-and-shannon
